  • Gibb River Road

Only the tar bit at the eastern end as I had a hire vehicle which was not allowed on unmade roads. It was tar as far as the Pentacost river. One of the most photographed ones in Aus.

#5 The Pentacost river. People putting air in their tyres as the road turned to tar. Seems to be a social place to compare notes on the state of the road.

Amazing country Hans and you've taken some glorious photos showing of the contrasting colours in our great land. The tar looks to be in excellent condition.

Road was a bit rough in spots and some of it was new. I'm sure it was a lot better than the other side of the Pentacost.

The dirt roads were pretty rough when I was up there - corrugated as.

    G'day Hans

More pics of 'my sort of country' .... makes me drool yet again
Suggestion (if you haven't already) ... use Isac's trick of auto haze removal to see if the hills come up any stronger with their rich colours
