  • Old post 'n rail timber fences

    G'day all

On my pre-brekky walk up the road from my camping place, these old timber fences caught my eye

    1)-

    exif- Panny FZ-2500; 1/125s x F11; ISO-400; lens at 2x zoom / 50mm FFequiv

    2)-

    exif- Panny FZ-2500; 1/125s x F11; ISO-400; lens at 10 zoom / 250mm FFequiv

    As always, feedback welcome

Nice old fences. I wonder what their age is? I can imagine some guy working out in the sun hand drilling the wire holes with one of those drills that looks like a crank handle. Tough work.
Don't post and rail fences have horizontal wooden rails between the posts rather than barbed wire?

Hi Richard ... you're quite correct -- these are not 'post 'n rail' -- my error
These images were shot under heavy cloud, so I had some issues with WB etc

Nice shots Phill. Really like the textures in the first one with all of the moss on it.
    Fujifilm X-T5, XF16-80 f/4, XF70-300 f/4-5.6, XF23 f/2, XF35 f/2, XF150-600 f/5.6-8, and a random assortment of 35mm film cameras.

Great pics. Very labour intensive using the "hole" method Phil. A lot just used staples - much quicker.
