  • Myall Park Botanic Garden in early light

I saw in a video by Mark Denney that he liked to reduce clarity and increase texture in his landscape photos to give a slightly more painterly look.

When processing these images, taken just before sunrise, I thought I'd give it a try. I rather liked the effect on these particularly photos. The originals had a red water-tank as a feature but I came to think it clashed with the overall beauty of the trees.

    Feedback welcomed.

Interesting! Is 1 a crop of 2? I think both have merit bit No1 seems to have a bit more OOMPH.

Two separate shots. #2 was taken a bit later and started with less contrast.

Nice edits Alan. Magically, the red tank has vanished!

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.

It's that easy nowadays Alan. Not much left for us graphic artists to challenge us any more. 35 years of learning PS down the drain. It's all done with the click of a button now. Anyway, it was a great journey and all journeys must come to and end sometime.

In this case it wasn't that easy. Photoshop removed a lot of the tank but didn't do a very good job so I had to do quite a bit of manual mouse waving to get what I wanted.
