Namibia is much better viewed using a land tour but we take a picture when we like what we see.

Great diversity captured here Hans. The terrain looks incredible. Such beautiful landscapes and colours. And a pink waterway! Well done, stunning photos.

We had paid for a taxi to go and see the flamingos. There is some arrangement where the Ship/port authority only allows a certain number of taxi tourist operators on the wharf for which they pay dearly. To see the flamingos the ship charged $200. I paid $40 for a taxi they beat the system by taking us about 2km where we changed vehicles while the original went back to pick up another customer. The flamingos were supposed to be where I got a picture of the indignant seal. There were no flamingos to be found but we got the full tour for $50 instead of $400 I tipped him $10. He did show me his gun under his shirt

I have done the pink lakes before in France and WA

Sounds like a much better deal than being ripped off by the ship. Was it a gun under his shirt or was he just happy to see you???
I've seen the pink lake at Esperance (WA) many times, I used to live there early 70's.

It was a nice looking handgun it must have been in some sort of harness I don't think he would have used velcro. Surprised I didn't see it before he lifted his shirt. The pink lake I am talking about was North of Perth
