These awesome creatures, the largest of all the seals and grow to around 3 metres long and can weigh over a tonne. Typically most Steller Sea Lions go around 600kg. To give some idea of size that salmon would be at least 50cm long. They aren't stupid either they wait outside the return chute from the salmon hatchery after the eggs have been taken from the fish and returned back into the harbour.
