I took the new Tokina 100mm macro over to the Australian Garden today to see how it performed in the "real world". The conditions were not favourable for photography with a wind that would come up at the worst time making focusing difficult to say the least. On top of that the sun would make sporadic appearances from behind the clouds and I would have to change my settings (I was shooting in manual for most of the time). I wasn't expecting much as most of the images looked average at best on the 7D's screen. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and loaded them on the the computer.
I have no idea of the names of the plants I photographed and there were hardly and signs to indicate what the plants were, so if anyone can help with identification please let me know.
C & C from the flower people would be greatly appreciated

The Tokina is working well GJ, nice and sharp. Great results. It looks like your shutter speed was high enough to cope with the breeze. Lovely colours too. I know some of the flowers names but they're probably the ones you already know.

I'm really pleasantly surprised how well they came out. They looked pretty ordinary on the camera's little LCD screen. 21 keepers out of 109 shots, not too bad when you consider the wind was gusting unpredictably.

        G'day GJ

If all were taken "in the wild" with a breeze to contend with, then your results are truely excellent
Regardless of the above - these images are wonderful and a credit to you and your abilities
