    G'day all

Sitting quietly in the back yard reading a book and listening to the warbles and squabbles of the various birds persuaded me to grab the camera and see what they were up to. Here's several for you ...

Blue-eyed Honey-eater in the Grevillia bush

    typical exif- Panny FZ-300; 1/400s x F4,0; ISO-100;lens at24x zoom / 600mm FFequiv

    As always, feedback welcome

Good poses Phil, and the angle of the light brings out the colour in the foliage and flowers. The whites on the birds look a bit hot, particularly #2.

A couple of really nice shots there Phil. The lighting conditions weren't kind with the shadows and, as Gary mentioned, some hot spots. Nothing that couldn't be corrected with a little PP.
I notice that you used the FZ300, is this a big crop, and how far away from the bird were you when you took the photo?

Not a bird found here in the West Phil. The lighting has been covered by the experts above so I will only say TFS as I have never seen one! Also their eyes are white so maybe a Blue Faced Honey-eater?

Thanks mate ~ I am not a "birdie" so I took a best guess ~ Your title sounds better

And is, in fact, correct. Had to check it using my bird App on my iThingy.

Thanks for the info Phil. Would this be just on the limits of the FZ300's capabilities, or could you push it a bit further?
