I'm not a spider fan but I do leave them alone unless they are red backs - then if they look as though they may harm the grandies - or myself, I just humanely euthanase them with any large object which is close by. How did you get the green background?

Hi Chris, the images in the post are thumbnails but clicking on the "2 Photos" link does display properly sized images.

I like photographing spiders but I'm not seeing too many around lately. Which macro lens do you have?

Good colour in the spider in #1 and the head looks sharp but the green background is a bit bright.

The background is good in #2 but the highlights on the spider are over-exposed due, I think, to the mix of bright sun and shade - always difficult to handle. It is probably better to photograph the sunny side for macros. Open shade is good provided you can keep the shutter speed high enough to get a sharp image.
