  • An Orb Weaver

    Thanks to eaglem for pointing out the name in caralan's spider thread.

    Found this between my Lemon Tree and the neighbours house.
    It was blowing in the wind, so was a tough shot.
    Plus I had one foot wedge in the lemon tree and the other on the fence.
    So I was happy that a couple came out.

    You did very well with both of these shots. The first shows just how big a web they make and the second a close up of the web maker. Doesn't look like he has much in the pantry as yet!!

      Thanks Bob.
      The web was actually bigger, but you start to lose sight of the spider if I went any wider.
      He had something to snack on as you can see, and a few other bit's and pieces in his web.

        There was an article in yesterdays Herald Sun, explaining about the huge number of insects, spiders and frogs.
        Due to the amount of rain and humidity around, it has been a great breeding season for them all.
