    Taken with a Zuiko 420mm lens @MFT

    OMD OM-1 + 300mm Pro and a 1,4 tc. Handheld to boot.

    About a 94% crop. and a bit of PP'ing..

      In this case, in manual mode, f5.6, 1/80th sec, and ISO 6400. Any slower then you just get a blob, and faster more detail but very faint. Trial and error as usual, The planet is a bit low in the sky here, so quite a lot of atmosphere to get through...

    Fantastic work Mark! - and at 6400 ISO, well done. Do you normally use shutter priority for these shots?

      I use Manual mode here. and settings as above. My MFT 300mm is worth 600mm on your FF's...

    Well done Mark. I would have thought you would just get a blob but you have quite a bit of detail.

      Yes, the shutter speed, etc needs to be fairly quick to avoid the blob. I used 1/80 sec, but I could have gone a bit faster there. So I was slightly overexposed, which has all the detail in the original shot. PP'ing to bring out the details from this....
