  • Time to moon

Taking motivation from Mick's moon post, I decided to try out the 150-600 on the moon.
I don't have wispy clouds in mine, but still, I'm happy how this turned out, considering I've never had much luck with shooting the moon previously with smaller lenses.

Just simple basic framing for this one. Maybe later in the week, I'll try again earlier in the evening to get the rising moon's soft orange glow.

The Siggy is great for mooning. My first effort at photographing the moon.

      This was on f/11 1/100 ISO200 600mm
This is a loaner lens, I pick up my 150-600 Tamron first week of Aug, so while I have this lens I'll be having a good play with it to see how they handle compared to my entry level 75-300 that I've been stuck using recently

Did you order the Sport version, I couldn't justify the extra $1000 so I went with the C version. I've been very happy with it.
Sorry, I misread your reply, I thought that you were buying the Siggy 150-600.

The one I'm borrowing is the sports version, so rather heavy to hold.

I enhanced it a bit in topaz so it exaggerated the few tires a little bit so it wasn't too flat

Could be a nice all round wildlife lens if weight wasn't an issue? Impressive moon.

Good for stationary setup with tripod and gimbals, but not for walking around haha

You did well Joe. You'll get similar results with the Tammy.
