  • The Great Orion Nebula from ASIGN Observatory II

Success! ASIGN Observatory II got a full night of imaging in last night. Good seeing, late moon and nice and cold.

This is a combined stack of 21 exposures of five minutes each exposure. Trying to make sense of the software was challenging, but the end result was worth the hours of processing. The object is M42, the Great Orion Nebula.

That is amazing ! It is like a piece of fantasy computer graphics, but it is real. I glad you can take photos like this to show us.

Thanks everyone. There are few of us who have the privelege of being able to capture this sort of beauty of creation out there, so it is with great pleasure and humility I love to share this stuff with those who don't get that opportunity.

M42 Orion Nebula is not new, but it is my latest photo of it from last Saturday.
