Sorry lost this thread. The phone app I used is called Spectre (IOS not sure if it is Android). Basically you decide on the length of the exposure then hold the camera so the little box stays inside the larger box while the exposure is happening then the software does its magic.

This is well beyond anything that I could ever do. Even in my younger days I very much doubt if I could of held it so still for so long.

Is this using the feature that takes a series of shots or short video and then merges them.

9-seconds .... wow - the only way I could contemplate anything like that would be if I were propped against a pole or tree - and even then it would not be guaranteed for success
