  • Mist still rising off the waters

    G'day all

With the mist still rising off the waters of Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin, these scullers from the AIS sports training academy are already hard at it. Still being half-dark each scull and the coach's boat have location lights visible

    As always, feedback welcome

I like the composition and detail in #1 Phil, but I think it would be improved with more contrast. Just removing the space from the dark end of the histogram would give it more punch while retaining the mist rising from the water.

I think #2 is interesting but doesn't appeal as much, possibly because the figures are a bit small, the bright foreground draws attention and the interesting light on the background trees is a bit too dark - at this size anyway.

      Thanks mate - good ideas
I must be slipping (in me ol' age) in forgetting the Levels options ... playing with ACR and then cropping & resizing & posting
