  • Return of the wings part 3

A quick trip out the back of town again this morning netted me these beauties.
The first time me getting a Striated Pardalote. I could hear a new bird sound singing between 2 birds, so I started to find the source.
Climbing up an eroded sliff face towards the sound. I sat down a bit and spotted the little fella in the bush in front of me. Before I could get the camera zoned in, he was gone. I figured that he kept returning to this bush, so all I had to do was wait and be in position, ready.
5 min later, I could hear the calls getting closer as it tree hopped back my way. Sadly, he stayed deep in the bush, but I got lucky when he stayed long enough in a gap between the limbs to capture a few good photos.

Well done Joe. The striated pardalotes are beautiful little Australian birds.

Nice work on the pardalote Joe, they are so small they are difficult to see much less photograph.
